Marquetry Inlays

Marquetry is the practice of painting with wood, usually with thin sheets, colors and patterns of grain. Vance pieces are cut the size and shape, and glued to A committee of Backer, or a box or a project similar to others, forming an image.
When the practice of marquetry I will draw the desired shape on a sheet of paper with the correct size, shape and cut with exacto knife, creating a window in the paper. Then I put the "window" in the choice of palettes, progress to positions test until I am satisfied with the grain direction and pattern. Then trace the "window" in the vane and make the cut with Exacto knife and tape or PIN number in its respective position on the project. This process is repeated until the picture is complete. Final adjustments are then made until all the pieces fit precisely.
When I am satisfied with the shape and general appearance, I put the pieces face down on a piece of adhesive shelf liner, cut carefully the surface of the plateau surrounding the finished picture. Then place this unit right on the Veleta I usually use my back, and trace around the unit with my Exacto knife, then cut the window of the palette.
Adjusting is successful, put the camera in the window of the palette, and tape in place of the top, and prepare the surface of the support of the application of glue.
I prefer to use hot glue to hide the chrome, because it gives me a little time to conduct a final adjustment in the placement of the vane. I spread the glue evenly over the surface and place of the compound in the project. Then cover with a layer of material compounds waxed paper and place a piece of wood on the waxed paper, and either set the "sandwich" them or place enough weight on it to ensure the glue is completed. The wax paper prevents the wood to join the project in the case of squeezing a bit of glue, which occurs most often. Once the glue, Vane can be cut to fit the project.
Parqetry is a similar process but usually involves repeating geometric designs, usually with thick plates and large projects such as countertops, floors, etc.
In this case, usually cut pattern pieces, organize and sanding meeting, and then spread the glue in an area that can be covered in a few minutes, then put the pieces of wet tail pattern.
Often is necessary to use a notched spreader to apply the adhesive or sealant, which gives the tail of a place to compress without removing previously placed parts. Parquet usually involves final sanding after the glue has set.
Embedding is the process of placing a piece of material mixture on a solid surface, usually wood, but I've seen other examples of marquetry. The process is as I described, When making a drawing on a piece of marquetry Vane.
The first step is to shape piece is inlaid. The piece is placed in the slot in the draft, and held firmly in place while tracing around the outside of the room with a very a pencil sharp metal type or a sharp knife. I prefer to use an Exacto knife, because the point is very thin, and the posterior row is very accurate. The piece can be sustained by fusion hot glue, double sided tape, clamps, or by hand pressure, according the size of the room and what is at hand.
As usually involves an inlay final sanding, I like to spray paint the work area with an acrylic paint that contrasts with the front surface of the location family, because the line is clear and the paint will disappear with the final sanding.
I use a rotary tool with router base and a 1 / 8 inch or less or router little to remove the material within the row. I left a little broth in the line, and remove the last bit with a sharp knife and a chisel.
Setting router depth to slightly less than the thickness of the part to be embedded. I usually have a couple of things of matter under the cover of router base, and a piece of paper under the drill on a flat surface well, and adjust the depth of just touching the paper. This allows embedding excel surface of the parent company in the thickness of paper and adhesive film thickness. It is much easier to sand embedding sand the entire surface.
