Manhattan, New York – October 30, 2007 – The Lion Brand Yarn Company today released the results of a survey recently conducted online, knitting and crochet enthusiasts. The results were released through Lion brand podcast can be heard through his new website "Yarncraft in: yarncraft.lionbrand.com. The survey results describe a dynamic and growing community of experts advanced amateurs who use the Internet to develop and enrich your child's passion for the craft.

The survey results mark the Lion are in line with a recent report from Pew Internet online fans, which revealed that 83% of Americans crochet, while one in four of information from the knitting podcasts.

The Lion Brand survey also revealed that 52.7% of respondents read blogs, while 50.4% listen to podcasts. This exceeds the most recent Pew Internet & American Life Project figures that show that 39% of Americans read blogs and download podcasts of 12%.

The survey also found that online child-Crafters is a highly social group, with 35.6% of respondents saying they were members of MySpace, Facebook members and Flickr are the second and third. A very surprising result of the survey is that 1 in 4 response was already Ravelry.com united. Ravelry is weaving a new social network, which launched in May 2007 and is still in beta. The site already has 21,000 members at present with an additional 15,000 on its waiting list.
